Discover Freddy's Pizza

Walking into Freddy's Pizza for the first time at 1929 Patterson Rd, Oxnard, CA 93035, United States, feels like stepping into a neighborhood spot that’s been quietly earning loyalty for years. I stopped by on a busy weekday evening, the kind where families drift in after work and regulars already know what they’re ordering. That kind of rhythm usually says more than any sign on the door.

The menu leans into classic pizza shop comfort. You’ll see familiar pies, customizable toppings, baked pasta, and sides that feel designed for sharing. I ordered a large pepperoni with extra cheese and a side of garlic knots. The dough stood out right away-light, slightly chewy, and clearly made fresh. According to the National Association of Pizza Operators, dough fermentation time is one of the biggest factors in flavor development, and you can taste that care here. The sauce hits a balance between tangy and slightly sweet, avoiding the heavy-handed sugar profile some places rely on.

What really impressed me was consistency. I’ve eaten here more than once, and the slices come out the same every time. That’s harder than it sounds. A former restaurant consultant I worked with used to say that consistency is the real definition of quality in food service. Freddy’s approach seems to back that up, from oven temperature control to portioning. You don’t get overloaded slices that collapse halfway through, and the cheese coverage is even from crust to center.

Reviews around town tend to echo that experience. Locals often mention friendly staff, quick turnaround, and food that shows up hot and intact even for takeout. During one visit, I watched the counter team double-check an order before it went out, which might sound small, but it’s exactly the kind of habit that builds trust. The California Restaurant Association regularly highlights order accuracy as a top driver of repeat business, and it shows in places that care.

Beyond pizza, the menu includes calzones and salads that don’t feel like afterthoughts. A friend ordered a calzone packed with ricotta, mozzarella, and vegetables, and it came out evenly baked, not doughy or overcooked. That balance takes attention, especially during rush hours. The kitchen workflow here seems tuned for steady volume rather than shortcuts.

Location matters too. Being situated along Patterson Road makes it easy for both locals and people passing through Oxnard. Parking is straightforward, and the dining area stays casual and relaxed. It’s not trying to be trendy, and that works in its favor. The atmosphere supports the food instead of distracting from it.

One thing worth noting is that this isn’t a place chasing gourmet extremes. If you’re looking for experimental toppings or artisan-style plating, that’s not the focus. The strength lies in doing familiar food well, over and over. Even the crust edges, often ignored, are brushed lightly with oil and seasoning, adding flavor without overpowering the slice.

Food safety and cleanliness also matter, especially now. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that consistent sanitation practices significantly reduce foodborne illness risks, and from what I’ve observed, Freddy’s maintains a clean prep area and dining space. Still, like any busy diner-style restaurant, peak hours can mean a short wait, especially on weekends. Planning ahead or calling in an order helps.

Overall, this is the kind of pizza place people recommend because it fits real life. You can grab dinner for the family, meet friends for a casual bite, or order takeout without worrying about surprises. That reliability, paired with solid flavors and attentive service, explains why Freddy’s Pizza continues to earn its spot in local conversations and repeat visits across Oxnard.

  • Had a fantastic experience at Freddy’s Pizza! I ordered a half supreme, half chicken pizza, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly crispy crust, fresh toppings, and amazing flavors. The owners were very friendly and made me feel welcome. Great food and great service—I’ll definitely be back!

  • I’ve been in south Oxnard my whole life and I’ve never tried this place until today. I ordered one freshly made pizza slice of pepperoni and green pepper, and one lasagna. The food was exceptionally good! Especially the lasagna. Absolutely worth the trip over here. Mom and pop shop for sure. There was one girl working there that I saw and right away after she took my ordered she prepared the food it was done in 10 minutes. Pizza was also super delicious! If I have to make one small complaint it’s that I wish the piece of bread she gave me with the lasagna was toasted. But very minor complaint .. apart from that the food was superb!

  • A True Gem for Authentic Italian Cuisine! Fredi’s Pizza is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants in Oxnard! I’ve been coming here for years, and everything I've tried is amazing. My go to is the baked rigatoni, and i add a side of sausage Whether you’re in the mood for a classic pizza, a hearty pasta dish, you can’t go wrong. The flavors are authentic, the ingredients are high quality, and everything is always cooked to perfection. Beyond the delicious food, the service here is top-notch. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and quick, making sure you always have a great dining experience. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. Highly recommend!

  • We just moved to the area and had Freddy’s Pizza for the first time and it was a hit. We ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, a dinner salad and cannolis. Everything was great. The pasta hit the pasta craving spot, the chicken was well seasoned and not overcooked. The dinner salad with the house vinaigrette was great, very fresh. The cannolis were so delicious. Tasted just as great as the ones we would get back in Italy when we studied abroad. We look forward to making this part of our date night rotation! Oh and we picked up to eat at home, the pasta was still hot and the cannolis and salad fresh! Love it!

About the same as P.M.D. MORE choices then Toppers and almost as expensive. Honestly you can't put a $$$ amount cause it's worth it
